Hi there! I'm Sarah, or Sarzy.
I am a Digital Product Designer with 10 years of experience in driving captivating digital experiences.
I grew up in Michigan (Go Green!) but I hitched a flying V down south for a winter and ended up sticking around (ducks fly together). My time in Texas changed me and now I love breakfast tacos and prefer to overuse the famous fancy word, "Y'all'. Aside from my degrees and my career in user experience and product design, I'm a professional chocolate consumptionist. I rescue and foster dogs whenever possible (Rooney and Gordie pictured respectively.) I once watched Billy Madison 8 consecutive times in one day, and most importantly, I have a physics-defying 3" vertical. Incase I'm not interesting enough, I also genuinely love visits to the dentist.
In all seriousness, I thrive in working alongside other design warriors to combat confusion in the web-based world. In the future, I hope to eradicate bad UI/UX and triumph in helping humans across the globe interact with computers confidently. In my current position, I help define product strategy, drive design direction, mentor those on my team, and lead workshops when necessary. I enjoy helping younger designers through the entire design process, helping to improve their work and understanding of best practices. I also have experience interacting with our product team, developers, and directly with client stakeholders both face-to-face and remotely.
Lastly, despite my belief in harsher penalties for parole violators and world peace, I look forward to working with anyone who enjoys the outdoors, funny movies, and is acceptably obsessed with animals. My journey in the world of technology is fueled by a relentless curiosity and a commitment in pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
Uncovering user needs, behaviors, and contexts to inform effective user-centered design solutions.
Analyzing the insights from the design research phase to identify key themes and use them to inform next steps.
Conducting user testing early helps to identify patterns, issues, and user expectations from real users.
Digging into target behaviors and goal actions to establish a visual language and interface that meets those user needs.
To get digital products to launch takes a lot of communication, organization, and driving cross collaboration.
It's important to drive product performance in the right direction by setting a North Star Metric and analyzing KPIs.
Over the past 4 years i've mostly utilized and design in Figma with an emphasis on Figjam, Mural, and Miro for collaborative workshops. For notes and documentation I typically use Dropbox Paper and the google suite.
